PROJECT PROFILE A modern multistoried food warehouse, first of its kind in the country, has been constructed at Santahar under Adamdighi Upazila in Bogra district at a cost of around Tk 300 crore. The Santahar location was chosen for the project due to its strategic position between Naogaon and Bogra and its access to road and rail. The air-conditioned warehouse having capacity of 25 lakh metric tons of food grain has been built with financial and technical support from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). It will preserve food grain through using solar power round the clock. The warehouse is expected to contribute a lot towards enriching the country's food storage. |
